The Fiber Studio
The raw energy of my emotions continues to fuel me and propels me to further investigate as I open new doors of experimentation. I am hooked on creative challenges and wonder. I love pushing paint around and manipulating fabric and fibers into something interesting. I am continually learning and experimenting with new media and techniques, meeting new people, and seeking new ideas. Join me to work, learn, experiment, hang out or just stop and chat! Together, we may be able to expand each other’s horizons and enrich our experiences of being human.

Barbara Hauck, Owner/Instructor
Barbara J. Hauck’s work includes both functional weavings and fiber artwork which is a convergence of painting and weaving. Barbara received a Bachelor of Science in Art from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY, and a Master of Arts in Speech and Communication Studies from the Edinboro University of PA. Having learned to weave at Skidmore, she has been working at her craft for over 50 years.

She also authored the book “A Picture Palace Transformed: How Erie’s Warner Theatre Survived a Changing World.” Even in her fundraising positions, she advocated for arts and culture with several local organizations; the Warner Theatre Preservation Trust, the Erie Philharmonic, and the Arts Endowment of the Arts Council of Erie.
